Area Guide
Nanyuki.
A small town with everything that matters. Clean air, Mt Kenya on the doorstep, and a community that still knows its neighbors.
Life at 2,000 metres.
Nanyuki sits on the equator at the foot of Mt Kenya. The climate is mild year-round — warm days, cool nights, none of Nairobi's congestion or heat. It is the kind of place where you step outside and breathe.
The town has grown quickly but intentionally. Cedar Mall brought modern retail. New restaurants serve farm-to-table food from Laikipia ranches. The sports club has golf, tennis, and a pool. Schools are excellent. Hospitals are capable. The road to Nairobi is getting shorter every year.
And then there is Mt Kenya itself — visible from almost everywhere, reachable within 25 minutes for a day hike, a climb, or a morning in the forest. Ol Pejeta, with its rhinos and big cats, is 20 minutes the other way. This is not suburbia. This is somewhere.
